Mike Jones, the face and talent behind PikePictures...

From an early age Mike has been passionate about photography. His ability to capture a wide palette of creative pictures, combined with growing up by the sea has led to a successful career in marine photography, working with some of the key players in the industry.

Following a number of years living abroad, including attending school in France, Mike returned to England and embraced the world of sports photography, working as a freelance photographer for several Premiership football clubs, as well as directly for the national press,and a number of sports agencies.

It was this demanding environment, where image turn arounds from camera to news desk are expected in minutes that Mike excelled. His exceptional knowledge of digital technology and imaging, which was still in its infancy at the time, ensured his work was published extensively, and this success has continued within the marine and lifestyle media.

Mike's skills were first recognised by Yamaha Motor Europe who commissioned him to cover a marine press launch. As a result of the shoot, Mike's career in marine photography and his personal passion for yachting (himself the proud owner of a modest sailing boat, aptly titled "Snapper" and a member of the Royal Southern Yacht Club) took off.

Since then, Mike has been working extensively within the marine industry, and has worked on a variety of jobs all over the world,ranging from shoots at dusk in Finland, wild RIB races across Thailand, to photographing luxurious interiors at Boat Shows all around the globe for some of the world's leading motor yacht manufacturers.
